We are pleased to provide either, or both services. General contractors are best for those who want to be involved in the construction process and have a direct hand in managing the progress of their project. Project managers are best for those who want someone else to handle the stressful day-to-day operations of their construction project. Either way, Davidson Grant is a reputable firm, with mostly repeat clients, and lots of referrals.
Construction projects are often complicated. However, with years of experience, and great attention to detail, we can mitigate many of those complications. Our goal is to be on budget, and on time, every time. Most of the time we are successful. Just ask our clients.
Change Orders! Often the Bid price won’t be the Final price. Change orders are the most common way construction companies escalate the project cost to their benefit. Lack of detail in drawings and contracts, that clients don’t have the experience to know are missing, result in cost escalations above expected bid price. Choose a trustworthy firm that through effective project planning, will lower the need for change orders.
The cheapest bid is not going to be the best price. Reasonably competent trades are never the cheapest to hire. We also need to hire reliable sub-trades to make sure your project completes on time. Cheaper quotes are not all inclusive and will be subject to change orders that escalate the cost mid-way through the project. Ask us for referrals. We are highly skilled at working with both our clients and subtrades to discern ways to get the best cost for your project.
We are pioneering the use of Lean Construction Pricing by adopting the right mindset. Given the opportunity, we can value engineer your project. As your preferred contractor, its already our job to negotiate the best price for quality subtrades on your behalf. However, our value engineering team can also assess your project and determine how we can restructure your build to reduce the scope of work required by the sub-contractors, as well as reduce unnecessary management layers. There is more than one way to build something, and in our experience, design work is not always cost oriented. We think it should be.
